A stylish night for philanthropy

From Toronto Foundation: Photo by Michael Salem   When he founded Beauchamp & How in 1908, Walter Beauchamp Sr. outfitted various parts of Toronto society, everyone from bankers and politicians to transit workers and the military. The brand he was building went on to become iconic in Canadian men’s fashion, an institution that would dress men and women in custom suits for generations to come. Our thanks

December 2013 Dear Friends and Supporters, For the past 25 years, generous donors have kept the Bruce Beauchamp Memorial Fund (BBMF) alive, along with the memory of Bruce, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 1988. Helping others in the community is a fitting tribute to his generosity of spirit, which touched everyone he met. The Fund’s capital has exceeded $600,000 and with the help of Toronto Community Foundation (TCF), we have disbursed more than $300,000 over the years to a variety of causes, with a primary focus on health care. In 2013, our family was honoured to receive the Martin Connell Spirit of Philanthropy Award from TCF. This award is given annually to philanthropists who advance the vision of making Toronto the best city in which to live, work, learn and grow; who have a history of granting locally and who act as ambassadors and advocates for TCF. This means a great deal to us, as we know it would to Bruce. We...

2013 Martin Connell Spirit of Philanthropy Award

The year 2013 marked a quarter century of giving to commemorate Bruce Beauchamp’s memory through the Bruce Beauchamp Memorial Fund. We are pleased and proud to have received this award for the work we do in Bruce’s name. He was a very special person who delighted everyone with his kindness and wit, and as with so many others, he died too young. We know that helping people who face physical and medical challenges is the perfect way to keep his memory alive. This award is a tribute to Bruce and all those who have donated in his name.   Awarded to philanthropists who advance the vision of making Toronto the best city in which to live, work, learn, and grow; who have a history of granting locally; and who act as ambassadors and advocates for the Community Foundation. Named in honour of philanthropist and former Board Chair Martin Connell for his years of leadership. ...
